Hedy Lamarr
Birth & Death:
Hedy Lamarr was born in Vienna Autria on November 9th, 1914, and met her end on January 19th, 2000.
Major Contributions:
Hedy invented a method called "frecuency Hopping." This method was used to encrypt messages, making it harder for the Axis Powers to decode the Allied radio messages. The innovation was later used as a base for more technological inventions suchas WiFi, and Bluetooth.
Minor Contributions:
Lamarr was considered a "catalyst" for technological innovation. She broke the idea that only those who study technology can make technological advances, encouraging more people to work in th computer science field.
A Bit of Trivia:
Hedy originally gained fame for acting rather than computer science. That success unfortunatly terminated after being attacked internationally due to her inappropriate role in her movie "Samson and Delilah"
